2014 Lincoln Highway Link-Up

Let’s Make Some History!

Audio Archive of the net is available for downloading HERE

What a great turn out, the 1st ever Lincoln Highway Link-Up was a GREAT success! We had a total of 78 RoIP nodes linked into the net, covering 15 states and 4 different RoIP technologies! The actual number of repeaters that participated far exceeds this number, as some of the repeaters have RF links, and do not have a separate node number. The final “official” count of checkins was 73. Thank you to everyone for joining us in this historic event!

Plans are underway for next year’s net. If you are interested in participating or lending a hand, you are more than welcome. Drop us a line!

The net ran the full 6 hours, from 17:00-23:00 UTC. Net control did a great job managing the net, which was no small task! Having that many repeaters covering such a large geographic area can be overwhelming at times! Hats off to Mike KB8JNM (N2S) for handling NCS duties!

During the course of the net, a lot of history was discussed about the Lincoln Highway from the various areas the route covers, and about the highway itself. Thank you to all that participated to make this such a great event! Due to the large turn-out and overwhelming support, there is a great chance this will become an annual event. A new webpage was created by Kevin WJ8G that is dedicated to the LHLU. Visit www.rt30link.com to check it out! More information and updates will be added as we sort through all the information, and see where this leads us.

Again, thank you everyone that participated! And a special thanks to the following groups and individuals who, without you, this event would not have been possible!
